Patch 11.61

RECENT NEWS:

Patch 11.61

Greetings, Taernians!

Today's update brings not only the changes we talked about in the recent article but much more! The Resting overhaul and adjustments to the Trials of the Lodge are the biggest highlights, but we're also reworking dynamic events so that more players can enjoy them at the same time, introducing improvements for early game, and fixing several bugs. Read on to see the full list of changes.

Changes and New Features:

  • Changed the way characters rest - resting will now begin automatically whenever your character is standing in an appropriate area. It will regenerate resources faster while standing still and more slowly while moving. Since the overall process is now significantly faster, the base regeneration speed has been slightly reduced.
  • Adjusted the Might of enemies in subsequent Arenas in the solo Trials of the Lodge based on class - the current values remain unchanged for Druids, while the difficulty has been reduced for other classes according to their capabilities.
  • Added a cap for how much enemies can be strengthened in the Trials of the Lodge (does not apply to the Trial of the Masters).
  • Prevented resource regeneration from being reduced below the base value of 5% when affected by a negative effect lowering special psychoeffects in the Trials of the Lodge.
  • Added a cap to the amount of stamina that can be drained by the Frost Aura effect.
  • Rebalanced Lightning damage in the reward Arenas in the Trials of the Lodge so it deals less damage on easier Trials and more damage on the most difficult one.
  • Added information about the Trials of the Lodge difficulty level to the private message with information about the ranking.
  • Disabled debuff areas after the elite enemies are summoned and improved the visibility of the suns in Volkhard's instance.
  • Added an alternative damage formula for situations where the damage calculated in the normal way would be extremely low. In such cases, the standard formula will be replaced with: DMG_alt = (20 + 5 × character_level) × skill_modifier, where:
DMG_alt – damage calculated using the alternative formula,
    character_level – the character's current level,
skill_modifier – the percentage damage modifier of the skill being used.

The resulting value will still be reduced by all existing game mechanics and randomized according to the current damage ranges for attacks. This change is aimed primarily at lower-level players who still have relatively few stats. In their case, skills that do not include weapon damage in their formula could deal significantly less damage than weapon-based skills.
  • Lowered the ranks of pet gear and, in some cases, the required levels to better match the difficulty of the instances they come from. The stats of these items remain unchanged, while their value has been reduced (making repairs cheaper). During the update, all affected offers will be removed from the Marketplace and the listing fee refunded. Upgrades on already enhanced items will be adjusted to their new rank - any excess stats will be removed in the following order: Power, Strength, Mana, Stamina, Knowledge, Dexterity, Health Points. The full list of pet equipment rank changes is available in the previous article.
  • Removed Hussarion and Basteya from the loot tables of the Elemental Specters and Geomorph, and added them to Fyodor, GMO, and the Tiger. Hussarion now drops from the Mantis, the Tiger, and GMO, while Basteya drops from the Weakened Construct and Fyodor. Drop chances have been adjusted accordingly.
  • Adjusted pet gear drop rates in the Trials of the Lodge to match the new ranks - they will now drop from appropriately lower Arenas.
  • Changes to the Greater Hawk dynamic event:
    • At the start of the event, if there are very large numbers of players in Beirn and on the Mountainside, portals leading to additional copies of those zones will open, with the event taking place there as well. If, after 4 minutes, both versions of Beirn are still heavily populated, another portal to an additional copy of Beirn will be opened. After 10 minutes, portals to a specific copy will close if the number of players there drops significantly. Players already inside will still be able to finish the event in that copy.
    • Mobs in copied zones will always be aggressive, regardless of the player's Health Points. Several evacuation portals and a green area will also be available.
    • Players who do not leave a copied zone after the event ends will be automatically teleported back to the original Beirn shortly afterward. Logging into such a zone while its portal is closed will also result in an automatic teleport.
    • Reduced the maximum reward from 20 to 15 Baits, meaning the maximum number of points that can be earned is now 15.
    • Reduced the score awarded for defeating a single enemy from 1 to 0.5 points, meaning players now need to defeat 30 enemies to earn the maximum reward.
    • Adjusted experience and psychoexperience rewards so they remain roughly the same despite the new scoring system.
    • Adjusted respawn timings and locations.
  • Changes to the Potato Beetles dynamic event:
    • The event will now end after a fixed amount of time, regardless of how many carcasses have been thrown into the bonfires. To complete it successfully, players must throw at least 40 carcasses into the bonfires.
    • Adjusted bonfire placement, respawn timings, and rewards.
    • Reduced the interval between events to 50 minutes.
  • Changes to the Observer dynamic event:
    • Stage 1 - the stage will end after a fixed amount of time regardless of the number of defeated mobs. To complete it successfully, players must defeat at least 20 enemies and throw at least 20 entrails into the well.
    • Stage 2 - besides the Observer, additional mobs will also appear. Their number will depend on how full the well was during the previous stage.
    • Adjusted respawn timings and rewards.
    • Reduced the Observer's difficulty so it can be defeated by characters within its intended level range.
    • Removed the possibility of locking the party when fighting the Observer.
    • Reduced the interval between events to 1 hour.
  • The Observer has been changed from a boss into a champion that drops the Reff's Remains and Dream Shackles sets. Pet gear has been moved to the Librarian (both the roaming one in the castle and the one available in the Dusty Grimoires daily quest). As a result, the Librarian's drop rates have been adjusted.
  • Adjusted the resistances of the Elemental Specters and reduced the level of the Fire Shield on the Fire Specter to reduce the performance gap between Barbarians and Fire Mages.
  • Changes to experience gained in Shadow and Darkness instances (detailed values are provided in the table):
    • Geomorph (Discovery and Adventure) – reduced experience gained.
    • Geomorph (Challenge) – increased experience gained.
    • Garthmog, Commander, Castle Specter, Fyodor, GMO, Heurocratos, Mantis, and Tiger (Discovery, Adventure, and Challenge) – increased experience gained.
    • Weakened Construct (Adventure) – adjusted the distribution of experience across the boss's subsequent forms. The total experience gained from the entire instance remains unchanged.
    • Weakened Construct (Discovery and Challenge) – increased experience gained.
    • Wendigo (Discovery, Adventure, and Challenge) – reduced experience gained.
    • Additionally, the levels of the following enemies have been increased across all difficulties: Dragon Servant, Cockroach, Vomitor, and Diptera.
  • Minor adjustments to tasks: Pest Control - reduced the required number of Breastplates and Abdomens from 5 to 1; Tasks for the Herbalist - reduced the required number of feathers from 5 to 2, and replaced the objective of defeating 5 lesser hawks and bringing back their feathers with defeating 8 lesser hawks.
  • Added a screen shake after activating the four correct runes in Hvar's instance.
  • Added a notification informing players that maintenance is in progress if they attempt to log into a server undergoing an update or technical maintenance.
  • Added discount information for avatar items whenever they are on sale, along with the remaining duration of the offers in the Premium Store.
  • Changed the way weekly faction rewards are claimed - they are now available through a Private Message in the Mail.
  • Added the infrastructure required for the upcoming summer events (more information about these events can be found here).
  • Miscellaneous security, graphical, and interface improvements.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue where players could sometimes be affected by a one-round Face of Death in the Trials of the Lodge, or be affected with more than one Face of Death per round in the solo version of the Trials.
  • Fixed a Weekly Challenges bug that could cause a completed task to be rolled again as its replacement.
  • Fixed an issue where a chest that could only be looted by a specific player would sometimes remain on the map even after that player had left the area.
  • Fixed an issue where some attacks after the initial target had been killed were not executed correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where purchasing shop gear with an additional Platinum cost deducted less gold than was displayed in the shop UI.
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect rounding of rewards in dynamic events when players earned fractional points.
  • Fixed various other minor issues.

Mobile Early Access Only:

  • Added the ability to change your character's avatar - this can now be done by tapping the avatar or through the Premium Store.
  • Improved interactions while using joystick controls - you no longer need to move your character to interact again with an object you've already interacted with or one that appeared while your character was standing still.
  • Added language filter options for chat visibility on multilingual servers.
  • Additional minor graphical, gameplay, and interface improvements.
