Today’s update introduces the Rage mechanic that aims not only to make combat more interesting but also make up for streaks of bad luck. It’ll only be available in PvE. If you haven’t done so already, please take a look at this article where we explain the origin of the mechanic and give more details on how it will work.
- Added Rage Points - they’ll be visible as an additional player resource. They are gained when players are hit or miss despite favorable odds. The number of points gained depends on the hit chance and the number of APs assigned to the action. Using a Rage ability consumes all Rage Points unless the player does well in the combat minigame - in this case, some Rage Points will be left.
- Added the tutorial quest Anger Management - it’ll be automatically added to all players who have reached level 7. Players won’t be able to use the new mechanic before finishing the tutorial.
- Added the ability tab Special. All Rage-related abilities will be available there. The level up process is exactly the same as for other abilities but the abilities cap at Adept.
- Added the new ability Unleash Rage - it’s an extra, special attack that deals damage and is performed before any other attacks. It ignores APs assigned to defense by the opponent.
- Added the new ability Recovery - it regenerates player resources and reduces their usage for subsequent actions. The resource usage reduction effect has a limited number of charges and modifier limits are not applicable to it.
- Added the new ability Furious Reflexes - the effect has a limited number of charges and lets players dodge a certain number of the opponent’s attacks from the chosen zone over a certain number of rounds. There is a chance that the dodged attack will be reflected back to the attacker. In addition to that, the effect absorbs damage-over-time at the cost of a charge.
- With the addition of new abilities, every character above level 10 will receive a skill reset token (if they don’t already have one), allowing them to redistribute their skills for free, without spending any platinum.
- Increased mob attributes by 5-15% (does not apply to party instances on the Path of Challenge dropping gear below rank X and mobs up to about level 70 spawning only in open areas) and adjusted the AI of Utorian Admiral and Sidraga to compensate for the new mechanic. Most enemies have been strengthened in the following way:
Miscellaneous:
- Added the display of charges in combat on the effect icon if the effect has them (e.g. Dodges, Fire Shield, Block).
- Fixed a bug delaying the Bridge Defense event and freezing its display on the world map if the event failed.
- Minor fixes to quests.
