Hello, Taernians!

In this update, we focused mostly on making the bigger drifs more efficient, introducing the “elite” mob type, and preparations for events. There’ll also be a new sidequest and some other, minor changes and fixes. Read on to learn more.

Gear overhaul:
As we mentioned, we wanted to make some changes to drifs so that having one of the bigger varieties would be the preferred choice even if the maximum levels would take a long time to reach. The chosen solution shouldn’t affect the current builds but would encourage increasing the size of your drifs.

The most important change is the rework of intensity - from now on, it won’t depend on the size of the drif but on its level. For example: at level 1, both subdrif and archdrif band will have an intensity of 4, but when the archdrif reaches level 7 (a level a subdrif cannot reach), its intensity will increase to 8, then when it reaches level 12, its intensity will change to 12, etc. If a piece of gear lacks capacity, then the archdrif will turn itself off and “wait” before reaching the level where its intensity would increase. You will need to transfer it into a different piece of gear or increase the capacity through incrustation.

All the new features will also be applied to the drifs you current have, so you can just keep using the current build and don’t worry about the change (there’s no downside) or you can increase the size of your drifs and gain the potential for future growth, higher value of the modifier due to the size, and an additional psychoexperience bonus.

We will spawn the NPC Miss Driffy that will extract all the drifs from your gear for free just in case some of you will want to combine them in a new way. The NPC will be available until January 3rd at 12.00 PM CEST.

Here’s a list of changes:

  • Added dynamically changing intensity depending on the level of the drif. Leveling up will be blocked if it would mean increasing the intensity of the drif.
  • Added a bonus to psychoexperience gained when a piece of gear contains drifs of the maximum size for a given gear rank. The drifs must be enabled. The bonus is +20% for two drifs and +60% for three drifs.
  • Increased the base modifier value for drifs as follows: subdrif and bidrif - no changes. magnidrif - changed from 3x base value to 4x, archdrif - changed from 4x base value to 6x. For example, magnidrif band at level 1 - used to be 1,5%, will be 2%, archdrif tall - used to be 4%, will be 6%.

New mob type - elites:
Due to a slight problem with identifying what a given mob party is, we decided to introduce an additional mob type. From now on, the division will be as follows: bosses - mobs that drop legendary gear, champions - mobs that drop sets, elites - mobs that are worth killing because they are worth more than the other mobs in the area but aren’t as profitable as bosses and champions. This has been done mostly for order’s sake but thanks to this, some mobs have been given a new identity. Mobs like Morkvirr or Sabeltig will now be elites.

Here’s a list of changes:

  • Added a new mob type - elite. Due to this, there have been some changes to existing mobs and their names.
  • Changed the orbs that increase/reduce damage to/from champions to also include elites.
  • A new icon above the mob and in the exploration tab - a bronze crown.
  • Added psychoexperience to elites and champions that lacked it.
  • Slightly modified psychoexperience gained from existing champions.
  • Changed the mob type of the Observer and Librarian - promoted to boss.

Quests:

  • Added the new sidequest “Deserter”. It can be taken from Berer in the Garrison if you are level 77 or higher.

Graphics:

  • New models for the following champions: Rizurul, Zaimm, Telek, Ragak the Marauder, Winter Shaman.
  • Fixes and new animations for some mobs.
  • New mob avatars.
  • Fixes for some minor graphical errors.

Other changes and new features:

  • Added a filter to the marketplace allowing you to search for gear by orb type and the number of ornaments.
  • Added autocomplete to the search results on the marketplace.
  • Combined items of the same name in the fight summary screen into one entry if the same player looted them. This means that instead of “Track of Fright (1) Track of Fright (1)” you will see “Track of Fright (2)”.
  • Disabled messages about attacking/killing/fleeing in the forms of tiles (the information in the log will remain).
  • Moved map entry icons to a lower layer, under the main UI (so that they don’t block buttons like resting).
  • Changed the unique skin to be earned in the next tournament league season.
  • Infrastructure for the Wreaker of Havoc event - more information can be found in this article.
  • Infrastructure for the Forefathers’ Eve event - more details will be given in the article dedicated to the event.

Bugs:

  • Fixed some bugs related to the display of incorrect guild name or last login time in the friends window.
  • Fixed a bug in the “double defense roll” modifier - it didn’t work on knowledge-based melee attacks and ranged magical attacks.
  • fixed the AI of Spectral Orcs - after the last update, they have been using the tactic with the Shadow Aura and Ominous Aura too much.
  • Fixed some bugs in the UI of dynamic events, e.g. the window disappearing after player death, no event summary if it ended while the player was in combat, lack of a full list of participants after mousing over the event window.
  • Fixed a bug causing the name of the area to not be displayed on the entrance.
  • Fixed a bug causing some of the granite to not spawn in the Giants Cave if a platinum chest spawned within range.
  • Fixed a bug causing incorrect rank assignment in PvP factions with a low player count.
  • Fixed other, minor errors.
