Hello, Taernians!

In this patch, we will focus mostly on the set rework, changes to champion spawns, and the final part of additional instance difficulty levels. Apart from that, you’ll get two new weapon skins, world map improvements, the highly-anticipated Beirn teleporter, and fixes for a couple of errors. Read on!

 

Gear rework and champion changes:

If you haven’t done so already, we recommend you take a look at this article. It’ll give you more context and details about the changes. In short, the new mechanics of sets aim to improve gameplay and make sets able to compete with rares. We want them to be useful for everyone, not just tournament alts or slowly progressing players. Due to the increased number of charges and the facts that you won’t have to level up drifs inside of them and the extraction of drifs will be free, sets should prove to be a great alternative for legendary gear. In addition to that, we’ll boost the availability of sets by increasing the overall loot chance and champion spawn rates.

 

  • Added a drif slot in every set element and used a new mechanic - drifs inserted into sets won’t gain any experience but they will provide the maximum modifier value for their size (as long as they are inserted into a set piece, of course). In addition to that, extracting drifs from sets won’t require a vulsor.
  • Adjusted the attributes of all set pieces.
  • Changed the set modifiers in the level 100 knight set: melee defense and critical hit resistance will be replaced by damage reduction and damage-over-time reduction.
  • Equalized the number of set pieces in related sets. Due to this, Roar of the North no longer includes gloves and Pinari now includes boots (Uruk Boots).
  • Changed the Gloves of the North to a legendary piece of gear named Pressors. It will be lootable from Construct v1.
  • Normalized the way gear discharges - all pieces of gear will start discharging under the same conditions: if they have an orb or a drif (until now, level 100 sets used to discharge differently).
  • Changed the way gear discharges - gear no longer discharges if it provides 0% of an effect.
  • Increased the number of charges in sets to 10,000.
  • Effects from sources that are not drifs (set effects, synergetics) will no longer count toward modifier reduction.
  • Changed the spawn rates and places of some champions: [LINK] - the table shows the spawn rates and places of all champions, including those that haven’t been changed.
  • Increased the overall lootrate of set pieces from champions.
  • Changed the loot of champions dropping level 22 sets - from now on, every champion will have a chance to drop a set piece from both Reff’s Remains and Dream Shackles.
  • Changed the type of set dropping from Wolfhound - it’ll now drop Lights of Tellabag.
  • Added shop items for higher levels than before, adjusted the offers of some shops, added the "Other" tab at Issa.

 

Boss instances:

This is the final package of additional difficulty levels of instances. With it, we are also going to change a bit how these instances work - quest requirements will be removed, ways of entering them will be altered, and the Construct v2 instance will be rebalanced.

 

  • Added additional instance difficulty levels - path of discovery and challenge: Ichtion, Construct v1, Construct v2, path of challenge: Angvalf-Htaga, Selena.
  • Changed the way the Construct v1 instance is entered - players can place the cell by clicking the console, not by talking to it. Once the cell is placed, the gate to Construct v2 will change to the gate to Construct v1 (this will be accompanied by an animation).
  • Changed the way the Selena instance is entered - players will be able to enter this instance like any other instance, using a normal entrance, without the need to take a daily quest. When the instance is entered, the party leader will be given a cooldown (similarly to Aqua Regis). Due to this, the daily quest “Selena’s Returns” has been removed but you can still talk about the boss with Halagar and ask him about the cooldown.
  • Changed the placement of mobs and chests that used to spawn on the Brink.
  • The Constructs and Angvalf-Htaga instances will no longer require a quest.
  • Rebalanced the Construct v2 instance - modified mob resistances across the whole instance, new AI for the final form, increased experience gained from Sentries.

 

Miscellaneous:

Apart from the things listed in the introduction, we’ll also make some quality of life improvements and fix some bugs, e.g. Might will now refresh after guild buffs are taken and wear off (without this, Might calculations proved confusing), bugs when fighting Sidraga, and some minor yet annoying errors with chats and private messages. Below you will find a full list of new features, changes, and fixes.

 

Graphics:

  • Added two new weapon skins to the Premium Store: Golden Shot (bow), Core (one-handed hammer).
  • Changed the visual effect of bouncing against shields (e.g. fire shield) and removed the interrupted attack animation.
  • Changed the icon of guilds and escorts.
  • Updated the orc champion avatars in the achievements.
  • Minor graphical changes and improvements.

 

Other changes and new features:

  • World map - added a countdown and information about dynamic events, the exploration tab will now open first, new way of displaying descriptions when mousing over icons, new items in the legend.
  • Added Beirn to the guild teleportation tower, added level requirements to teleportation, changed the placement of areas in the teleporter.
  • Changed the way experience and psychoexperience gained is displayed - it will now be displayed in the following way: amount gained in the current level / amount required to level up (the total experience gained will still be available in the attributes tab); drifs - they will now show full numbers instead of being rounded to thousands and millions.
  • Added Might refresh when the guild buff is taken and wears off.
  • Added an automatic rotation of the player character towards the NPC they are talking to.
  • Added the possibility to change the language version in the settings in the character list.
  • Added a profanity filter to general chats.
  • Added the possibility of decreasing the level of drifs by speaking with the NPC Alexander in Trentis.

 

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed the non-functional search in the My Drifs tab on the marketplace.
  • Fixed a bug causing an incorrect display of modifier values on drifs that level up inside a gear with drif enhancement.
  • Fixed several bugs in the Sidraga instance: no redirection of melee attack that targeted a melee-immune mob who was killed, ability block getting selected after Sidraga died, non-functional reflecting against bleeding and burning, non-functional reflecting against Precise Shot and Face of Death (Sidraga will reflect Depression if she has the required debuffs - this means that players may still get debuffed with it even if they don’t have all the other debuffs).
  • Fixed a bug causing the cooldown to be added to the whole party if the leader took the third Reinforced Crampons. Modified the conversation with Verstein so that it doesn’t close after purchase.
  • Fixed the way the orb that increases hit chance after missing works in conjunction with double attack and defense roll - the orb will work the same way for all rolls within one attack (until now, the orb would get “used up” during subsequent rolls so the final result might not have aligned with the expectations).
  • Fixed a bug occurring when the character bounces off, e.g. fire shield and the life drain orb triggers.
  • Fixed a bug with the visibility of NPC on the map in some situations when the player had lights and shadows turned off.
  • Fixed some bugs in letters related to the deletion of threads/messages, double messages, the lack of the Receiver field in some situations, etc..
  • Fixed some chat bugs: errors occurring after sending a message with emoji, private chat scrolling to the top by itself, lack of the “no spam” message in the private chat resulting in some messages not getting sent.
  • Fixed a bug causing mobs to be resurrected when they were killed solely by barbarians using their AoE and single-target skills if another player in the party was supposed to attack before them.
  • Fixed a bug making it impossible to reforge gear using a flask if the gear piece had negative attributes.
  • Fixed a bug with double death cards if a player was disconnected after death.
  • Fixed an error causing guild buffs to be lost and transferred to another character after a name change.
  • Fixed other, minor bugs and critical errors.
