Ah, there’s nothing better than the holiday spirit! Peace, quiet, painting Easter eggs and… hunting for giant, bloodthirsty rabbits that, as is tradition, have invaded Broken Ranks! As you might have guessed, yet another edition of the Bunny Marathon is approaching. Once more, you’ll face spring opponents to acquire handsome rewards, including brand-new skins. However, this year the event will look slightly different so make sure you read the rest of the article.
Duration
The Bunny Marathon will last a week, from April 18th (10 AM server time) to April 25th (10 AM server time).
When the event starts, you’ll see a special quest in the quest tab that will disappear when the festivities are over.
Rewards and new skins
The main reward for completing the event is a helmet skin called Lamentations and an avatar element - spring necklace. However, before you get them, you’ll also acquire other prizes - gold, experience, psychoexperience, and various utility items.
Moreover, the Premium Store will feature a body armor skin called Stigma which, together with the helmet, will be parts of a new set named Stations of Suffering. The other parts of the set will be available in the next edition of the Bunny Marathon.
You’ll also be able to buy skin sets from the previous editions. Sower of Spring will be available from the start while Furry Fury Fur will be added on April 21st.
Perhaps, instead of changing the appearance of your gear, you’d rather alter your face? If so, we also encourage you to take a look at the avatar store where new elements will be added: body or face tattoo, and a wreath. We’ll also make some changes to the prices of other elements, so you might want to browse the full offer.
The avatar elements will be removed from the Store on April 25th while gear skins will disappear on May 5th.
Event proper
The worried citizens are plagued by overgrown young rabbits and other spring monsters that disturb peace and destroy the holiday spirit. Luckily, this year you won’t have to face an uncontrolled invasion - the monsters won’t be found in open areas and will only spawn if a citizen points you to them at your request. The request is made by taking a task.
Before accepting a task, you’ll have to choose the difficulty and reward. Tasks will be divided into easy ones, which can be soloed or done with a small help, and hard ones, which will require a party. For completing the task, you’ll get one of the rewards of your choosing: character experience (psychoexperience at 140), gold, or pet experience. Of course, the harder the task, the bigger the reward.
You can take the tasks from:
- Alexander by the Sarmatines’ Tower (levels 3 -19),
- Witch Hoberl in the Swamp (levels 20-39),
- Border Guard in Alaril (levels 40-65),
- Izdirul Althi in the Orc Forest (levels 66-89),
- Malus on the Plateau (levels 90-109),
- Berer in the Garrison (levels 110-139),
- Reni in Beirn (level 140 - divided into two difficulty levels).
The citizens have a maximum of 20 such tasks for you. However, this is not the end of the event and one could even say that it’s barely the beginning. Each task you complete will let your track down a more dangerous opponent - an overgrown, bloodthirsty rabbit hiding in an unknown location guarding one of the Formulas. To get the item, you’ll need to defeat it, but it’ll have support in the form of Weretunas, Chicken Hearts, Chickenpox, or Lambdas.
Such an instance can only be done solo, without the support of other players. If you don’t feel strong enough to face the opponents at your level range, you can also choose a lower one. If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to try the harder instance first - to get all the rewards, you’ll only need to complete 16 out of 20 instances.
Eight Formulas can be handed to the task giver so that they can unravel the recipe for creating a skin or an avatar element and craft them. You can choose which one you want to get first. Crafting each of the items will cost you 500 Easter Eggs.
How can you find Easter Eggs? Well… look around. We’re sure you’ll notice them strewn across all the maps. However, it’s not the only way to get Easter Eggs - you’ll also get them for completing daily challenges. In addition to that, for the duration of the event one of the challenges will always be holiday-themed provided that you can participate in the event. When the event starts, everyone will get an extra, free reroll to change one of the non-event challenges to an event one (the chance for this will be 100%).
Many of you will surely gather more Easter eggs than needed to create the skin and the avatar element. Picking them up will have two types of rewards - individual and global. When you pick up an Easter egg, there’s a chance a white piece of gear or an utility item will hatch. In addition to that, the total number of Easter eggs collected will unlock a reward for everyone - Happy Hours with experience x2 and psychoexperience x1.6 which will take place after the event (the exact date and time will be given on our Discord). Each 10 million Easter Eggs collected means 2 extra hours of HH to the maximum of 6 hours. In various hubs, we’ll place a special plaque that will allow you to see how many more you need to reach the goal.
Moreover, elites will randomly spawn in some areas. They’ll drop utility items.
Make time, get the rewards, and simply have fun! Adventure awaits!
