Dear Taernians!
We would like to let you know that we have analyzed the data on the summer events as well as the results of the surveys we sent to you after the events were over. We decided to share some highlights that should be the most interesting to you. Let’s start then!
First of all, participation data:
As you can see, most of you took part in both events and it’s a very satisfactory outcome for us. It’s worth noting that the survey was sent to every player, including those who couldn’t participate in the events for various reasons. In addition to that, people have various preferences as to what activities they like to do.
But… what exactly did you accomplish during the events? Well, quite a lot:
- during the Andayan event, you killed 9,083,040 mob groups in total
- the killcount for the Night of Monster Slayers is even more impressive - 9,259,870.
Congratulations to all who contributed to making these numbers so high and who knows - maybe next time we’ll break the 10 million barrier together. :)
Below are the answers to the questions about how much fun you head during the events:
Among the two events, Night of Monster Slayer was a clear favorite. When we come back to it next time, we’ll try not to spoil this result. ;)
And now for the thing that interests some of you the most - limits. During the Andayan event, the limit was reached by 7% of players and 2% used alts to keep participating in it. The numbers for the Night of Monster Slayers are higher - 34% and 16% respectively. And what do you think about the introduction of event limits? Let’s see here:
As you can see in the diagram, almost half of our playerbase (48%) think that the introduction was a positive thing. The group that thinks it was a negative change is smaller yet still considerable (36%). In general, players are divided on this matter, especially at high levels. Below you can see detailed data about how each level range voted:
Taking into account the data presented here and other data we collected, we decided to keep using limits, including for future events. With time, we plan to introduce other forms of limits so that they become a more subtle part of the event mechanics. Limits allow us to organize better and more balanced events where players can get better prizes without having to play for the entire duration. What’s more important, this solution should positively affect the economy of the servers and also increase the long-term satisfaction from playing the game by eliminating FOMO which often causes players to be tired with the game after prolonged play sessions. The planned changes won’t be active during Forefathers’ Eve, but we hope that we’ll be able to introduce a more refined version before the Winter event. We hope that this change will make events even more attractive and satisfying for all the participants.
And since we’re talking about Forefathers’ Eve - this year, the event will start on October 31st (6 PM CET) and end on November 4th (11:59 PM CET). Yes, this is one of the biggest advantages of the introduction of limits - events can last much longer and you don’t need to rob a local store of all their energy drinks just to reap all the benefits. The exact limit for the event will be communicated at a later date together with all the changes we intend to make.
