On 24th June another “Community Update” will become available on the servers. Once again we are focusing on the suggestions you are so eagerly sharing on our Discord channel. What awaits you are a number of major and minor improvements to the current game mechanics, some new functionalities and improvements to those already present. All to make playing the game more comfortable and fun!
Marketplace development
Trade is one of the most important aspects of the game each Taernian will come into contact with sooner or later. This is why we decided to work on the Marketplace and the update will be centered around it. It is extremely popular, but when one uses a tool often and eagerly, one starts to notice its shortcomings and comes up with ideas how to improve it. We gathered them all together and, taking into consideration your preferences, the degree of usefulness and technical capabilities, we decided to introduce many of them.
Without a doubt the biggest new functionality is the possibility to make purchase offers. With it, you’ll be able to obtain an item of a specified price and amount even when you are not logged in, or you’re not following the Marketplace. And if you’re the one who wants to sell something quickly, you’ll be able to check if anyone is interested in it for a satisfying price. If so, you’ll be able to post it for that price – the sale will be realized immediately.
Another significant improvement concerns what many Taernians like the most – statistics. ;) After the update you won’t have to browse current offers to assess the price of an item you want to sell anymore. A summary of what is available in the Marketplace and a track record of sales for the past days will be available in the item sales window, which will doubtlessly improve the whole process.
Both purchase offers and statistics will be available only for offers concerning items and artifacts. Gear is not included due to the amount of variables such as durability, drifs and various effects or appearance. However, even here we will introduce a couple improvements that will make finding what you need easier – durability parameter will be present not only among filters but also as a separate column along with the number of drifs.
We will also improve sorting by price in given currency – you can choose from gold, platinum, or both at the same time. Bear in mind though, that when choosing the latter, platinum will be converted according to its average sales at the Marketplace on a given server. Automated collecting of information regarding that price is also a new function we’re introducing in this update – until now, the average was set manually (and it wasn’t at all considered at the Marketplace when sorting). It will also affect stores’ purchase and repair prices of gear.
Apart from the improvements mentioned above, we will also introduce many other, smaller enhancements that will improve the comfort of using the Marketplace, such as: visibility of how filled the deposit is from the Marketplace window, possibility to edit the amount of items put up for sale, saving tabs and filters for the duration of session, possibility to add an item to favorites from the search engine, possibility to link gear and artifacts already put up in the Marketplace, or the maximum tax for putting an item up for sale if you own the Premium Marketplace buff.
We are happy to announce that you’ll be able to learn about all the changes made to the Marketplace by watching a video. We’re collaborating with Galajus, who’ll present them to you before they become available on the servers, so we encourage you to follow his channel.
We hope you’ll enjoy trading even more!
Other changes and improvements
Although we focused primarily on the Marketplace, changes will also be made to the game’s mechanics and balance of some of its aspects.
We will significantly improve joining someone while in a party. In your suggestions you were mainly pointing out separating players, when it’s not possible to join someone immediately and unintended blocking of slots for others with pets - both of these issues will be resolved. The game won’t be separating players any more, and pets will be admitted when there are no more players willing to join.
Another element that will undergo a change is the way players’ readiness in combat is presented. You often complained that the “fist” that represents it is hard to discern in some cases, which makes cooperation difficult. The update will make clicking the clock symbolized with a visual effect around the whole character, so nothing will be obscuring it anymore.
Druids (and others too ;)) will be glad to hear that the display showing the state of combatants (enabled while using shift) won’t be reset between combats anymore. Once enabled, it will remain as such until it’s disabled by the player again.
We will also add another batch of minor balance fixes. This time we worked on two low-level instances from the path of challenge: The Tower and Ichtion. They will be adjusted for dedicated level range, both in the matter of strength and profitability. We will also significantly increase the accessibility of certain mobs required for the production of flasks (mainly Khold Priests) and change the form of the lempo event to one in which the time, rather than the amount, will decide when it’s over.
Significant optimization improvements will also be included. We changed numerous functions in the game engine, which should impact the loading times of maps and combats in a positive way. Additionally, we improved the memory management during longer gaming sessions. The decrease of FPS after a couple hours of playing should be rare now.
What else is in store for you?
- combining orbs regardless of their type,
- joining party while resting,
- previewing loot directly in the combat summary window,
- option to change some settings in combat,
- spaces in multi-digit numbers,
- arrows in pop-ups to make choosing amounts with a mouse easier,
- fixes in often used dialogues.
And many other changes that you will learn about from our changelog. Don’t forget to familiarize yourselves with it, when it’s out!
The Community Update is not all that awaits you in the near future. At the same time we are working on Act IV, which will appear soon after it. Meanwhile, our plans for the summer are to make balance changes, mainly to the Knight, and some events in a refreshed form. We will keep you updated with the details.
See you on the trail!
