Easter is just around the corner and the Bunny Marathon isn’t far behind! This means that Broken Ranks will become very furry and very dangerous. And, as is true especially in MMORPGs, it’s sometimes worth taking the risk to tan the hides of some monsters. Check out what rewards and special skins will be available for you during this year’s event.
If this is your first Bunny Marathon or you want to refresh your memory, you’ll find the event instructions below.
Duration
The Bunny Marathon will last a week, from April 3rd (10 AM server time) to April 10th (10 AM server time).
When the event starts, you’ll see a special quest in the quest tab that will disappear when the festivities are over.
Rewards, New Skins and Other Cosmetic Items
The main reward for completing the event is a new boots skin (Falls) and also an avatar element - a tiara. Of course, you’ll get lots of gold, experience, psychoexperience, and utility items along the way.
That’s not all! The Premium Store will feature Burden and Fetters - new cape and legguard skins that, together with the aforementioned boots, will complete the Stations of Suffering event set.
When looking for new inspirations for your image, it’s worth taking a look at the Avatar Store - it will feature new elements.
If you didn’t get them last year and your skin wardrobe could use some new pieces… now’s the time to stock up, because the previous elements of the set will once again be available in the Premium Store this year.
As for those who prefer a more classic appearance, the Premium Store will also have sets from previous editions.
Event Itself
The worried citizens are plagued by overgrown young rabbits and other spring monsters that disturb peace and destroy the holiday spirit. Want to help and restore order? Ask the locals. They’ll show you the way and give you individual tasks.
Before accepting a task, you’ll have to choose the difficulty and reward. Tasks will be divided into easy ones, which can be soloed or done with a small help, and hard ones, which will require a party. For completing the task, you’ll get one of the rewards of your choosing: character experience (psychoexperience at 140), gold, or pet experience. Of course, the harder the task, the bigger the reward.
You can take the tasks from:
- Alexander by the Sarmatines’ Tower (levels 3-19),
- Witch Hoberl in the Swamp (levels 20-39),
- Border Guard in Alaril (levels 40-65),
- Izdirul Althi in the Orc Forest (levels 66-89),
- Malus on the Plateau (levels 90-109),
- Berer in the Garrison (levels 110-139),
- Reni in Beirn (level 140 - divided into two difficulty levels).
The citizens have a maximum of 20 such tasks for you. However, this is not the end of the event and one could even say that it’s barely the beginning. Each task you complete will let your track down a more dangerous opponent - an overgrown, bloodthirsty rabbit hiding in an unknown location guarding one of the Formulas. To get the item, you’ll need to defeat it, but it’ll have support in the form of Weretunas, Chicken Hearts, Chickenpox, or Lambdas.
Such an instance can only be done solo, without the support of other players. If you don’t feel strong enough to face the opponents at your level range, you can also choose a lower one. If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to try the harder instance first - to get all the rewards, you’ll only need to complete 16 out of 20 instances.
Eight Formulas can be handed to the task giver so that they can unravel the recipe for creating a skin or an avatar element and craft them. You can choose which one you want to get first. Crafting each of the items will cost you 500 Easter Eggs.
How can you find Easter Eggs? Well… look around. We’re sure you’ll notice them strewn across all the maps. However, it’s not the only way to get Easter Eggs - you’ll also get them for completing daily challenges. In addition to that, for the duration of the event, one of the challenges will always be holiday-themed as long as you can participate in the event. When the event starts, everyone will get an extra, free reroll to change one of the non-event challenges to an event one (the chance for this will be 100%).
Everybody Collects, Everybody Wins
Cooperation and trying to achieve a common goal is the foundation of any good MMORPG and such is the case with the Bunny Marathon in Broken Ranks. Easter eggs are not just an event currency, because every egg you collect can give you something more! With a little bit of luck, you can hatch an utility item or shop gear. Pure profit.
What about surplus Easter eggs? They won’t be wasted - they’ll count towards a common pool that will translate to Happy Hours for the whole community of Broken Ranks. After the event, you will get extra experience (xp x2) and psychoexperience (x1.6) but every 10 million Easter eggs collected will give you an extra 2 hours (to a maximum of 6 hours). The exact times and dates will be given on our Discord and in the game client. You can track how many you have already collected towards this goal, because cities will have an announcement board with the current score.
Moreover, elites will randomly spawn in some areas. They’ll drop utility items.
Make time and go hunting - Easter eggs won’t collect themselves and bunnies won’t be waiting for you forever.
What changed versus the previous edition?
- Fixed a bug that caused some mobs not to spawn in instances.
- Removed the requirement to clear the instance before fighting the bunny.
- Adjusted rewards to the current state of the game.
- Removed task cooldown.
