Changes to the rules of The Pride of Taern / Broken Ranks
Dear players.
Due to many questions, feedback, and suggestions about our regulations, we decided to update them so that they better reflect the current state of the game, and also to make everything clearer for you. The present article aims to give an overview of the most important changes.
One set of rules for both 2D and 3D
As you might have noticed, Taern and Broken Ranks had separate sets of rules with slight differences. This was very confusing for players who were unaware of the differences. In order to mitigate this, we decided to unify both regulations by simply combining them into one. From now on, both games (Taern and Broken Ranks) will use the same set of rules and both games will be referred to as the “Taern - Broken Ranks service”.
Due to this:
- all references to one of the games have been changed to “Taern - Broken Ranks”, i.e. if the regulations previously contained “Broken Ranks”, they will now say “Taern - Broken Ranks”,
- links to one of the version of the game have been replaced to links to both versions, e.g. if the regulations previously contained a link to https://forum.taern.com/, they will now say “https://forum.brokenranks.com and https://forum.taern.com/ “.
What does this change for you?
The main result of these changes is that you can now have only a single account for playing on both Taern and Broken Ranks. When the new regulations come into force, if you have two accounts for playing Taern and Broken Ranks, you’ll have to contact our support within 7 days in order to deal with the extra accounts (this does not apply to Thalia 2D).
In addition to that, it has been made clear that any punishments given in one version of the game will carry over to the other. This has already been the case as, e.g bans in Taern prevented you from playing Broken Ranks, but we want you to have no doubts about it.
Other changes
Apart from the most important change mentioned above, there are some other clarifications and minor alterations.
Here’s a short list of the ones you might be interested in:
- we clarify that it is forbidden for third parties to use your account and you cannot give third parties access to it, including with the aid of software like TeamViewer, AnyDesk, etc.
- PvP fights where normally untradeable items are being transferred or whose only aim is to transfer resources (e.g. gold) are forbidden.
- forbidden actions now include in-game competitions or lotteries (unless with the Team’s consent) and trading in-game items for real life goods or services (other points of the regulations also said this, but we wanted it to be perfectly clear).
And that’s all folks. We hope that the new regulations will be clearer, better suited to the reality of the game where many players are playing both Broken Ranks and Taern. Please remember that the above points are only a summary of the changes - it’s still better to read the whole regulations before accepting them.
